Wellwood Orchards in Weathersfield Vermont will hold its Donkey & Mule Day on Sunday, May 13, Mother's Day, from 9:30am to 2pm. Demonstrations of clicker training, donkey/mule care, driving and obstacles. Entered donkeys will be $15 for the day with lunch. For the donkey?

General admission without donkeys by donation. Donkey merchandise will be available to buy. All proceeds to benefit donkeys rescue. Please no dogs!

When you visit a web page using IE9 and you receive an Error Message, possibly including something like the one at the bottom of this posting, the problem may be a Compatibility Issue in IE 9... You can solve this problem in a few seconds by doing the following...

When using IE9 look at your address bar... the URL at the very top of your screen on the left... In the same box, to the extreme right, you will see several icons... a magnifying glass, a down arrow.. and then "a broken box".. When you lay your mouse over this box "Compatibility View" will be displayed..click on it and it will turn BLUE. Done, Problem Solved!

Whether you're planning a visit to Vermont, a year-round resident, or in the tourism business here, the lack of cell phone coverage here can be a serious problem. And, Vermont leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to cell phone coverage!!!

If a visitor, it can be the deciding factor as to where to visit for various reasons.. the need to be reached for business or personal reasons, and/or in case of vehicle breakdown.. especially dangerous in winter. If a resident, likewise! And, if you own a Vermont lodging establishment the lack of cell phone coverage is a problem.. here at LinkVermont.com we know this to be fact as a result of our surveys!

Check Cell Phone Coverage by City, Town, or Zip Code & Provider anywhere in the U.S.

We intend to make a lot of noise about this problem and would appreciate your comments below to this posting.

Not The Same Old Fishing Holes

If you plan to return to your favorite fishing holes in Vermont's rivers and streams you may be in for a shock this year. Hurricane Irene changed a lot. Some have carved an entirely new route.. others are wider.. many treed river banks no longer have trees.. and we suspect that in some spots the rivers have gotten deeper in places. So be careful out there!

On the other hand, those who fish from the river banks may find it easier to cast.. and safer and easier for the kids.

So.. get your gear out... and clean up your tackle box. It won't be long now before the Vermont Department of Fish & Wildlife starts stocking the rivers.. lakes too! This coming weekend many of Vermont's Sugarhouses will open to the public. Watch our liquid gold being made.. and taste some samples. There's nothing more "Vermont" than our maple syrup. We use it instead of sugar in recipes, pour it over ice cream, put it on our pancakes and lots of other things. Pick up some recipes while you're here!

Update From The Tweed Music Festival.. The Tweed River Music Carnival to be held at Pico Mountain Is Still On! Although now we may have to call it The March Madness MeltDown Festival.

Pico Ski Resort may even have to shut down the lifts before the music starts on Friday March 23rd but that will not stop us either. We have made it through the floods of Irene and an unforgiving winter so these cancellations don’t faze us a bit. It just fuels our commitment to providing a great weekend of music and fun that we all need now. Even if the lifts are not spinning Pico is a great place. The experience of hiking up and skiing down in solitude on corn snow is a past time many locals look forward to. If the day is nice (and we plan on it being gorgeous), then it will be one hell of a deck party. So get all your friends and family together and come on down to Pico Mountain on March 23 and 24 and have some high altitude spring recreation and get down with some fabulous music.
